This 12-page glossy brochure provides information on what a tsunami is, how fast and how big they can be, what causes them, and describes programs undertaken to mitigate this hazard, including the development of tsunami warning centers, research programmes, and safety rules describing what to do when a tsunami attack your coastline. Tsunami The Great Waves in Chinese (1st edition) is available for the first time. It is also available in English, Spanish and French.  It was designed and published by the International Tsunami Information Centre, with support from the UNESCO/IOC Tsunami Programme, the USA (National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration), France (Laboratoire de Geophysique) and the National Marine Environment Forecasting Centre (NMEFC) of the State Oceanic Administration of China and the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO).
