OOPC documents can be accessed in three categories:

• Past session reports of meetings of the Panel, which inform the work plans of the panel members and secretariat.
   
• Reports of the Ocean Observing System Development Panel, the predecessor to the OOPC. These reports formed the basis of the initial recommendations for the sustained global ocean observing system for climate.
   
• Background documents, including the most recent documentation of the requirements and plans for observing system, as reports to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
